SEMEN STALLION SERVICE CONTRACT
This STALLION SERVICE CONTRACT for the breeding season of _____________________
is entered into on this day

and PAY the stallion fee together with all other expenses stated herein.
1.
This contract is specific to mares bred with Cooled Shipped Semen.
2. The breeding fee of $___________, includes a non-refundable booking fee of $_________ payable upon the execution of this contract. The balance of the breeding fee, semen collection/shipping, and any Equitainer fees must be paid 5 working days prior to shipment of any semen.
3. Unless otherwise
specified JHF Stable will ship in a disposable semen shipping
container. (If the mare owner chooses, he/she can provide
JHF Stable with an Equitainer; OR an Equitainer can be rented from JHF
Stable for a rental fee of $50, plus a $200.00 deposit. The deposit
will be refunded upon the safe return of the Equitainer and its components
in good condition pre-paid by next day courier within 48 hours of
its receipt.)
4. JHF Stable will ship
semen under this agreement commencing February 1. Shipping will be by overnight courier
on weekdays. The mare owner MUST notify JHF Stable when
the mare comes into heat and again before 8:00 AM Eastern Time on the
day the semen is to be shipped. The mare owner is responsible
for a $200 semen collection/preparation fee per collection.
Shipping fees and cost of the disposable shipping container are included
in this fee. The container holds two insemination doses.
5. The mare owner
shall attempt with reasonable diligence to settle the mare. In this
regard the mare owner shall enlist the services of a licensed veterinarian
experienced in equine reproduction and shipped cooled semen. The
mare must be inseminated per AQHA rules within 72 hours of the collection
time written on the Insemination Certificate accompanying the semen. Semen may be used only for the mare named herein. If the mare
does not settle, the mare owner may bring the mare to JHF Stable for
insemination, or try shipped cooled semen the following year only. (
Normal board & all Veterinarian incurred fees will be billed for
mares inseminated at JHF Stable. )
6. The mare owner
must send JHF Stable the COMPLETED
PINK COPY of the AQHA COLLECTION / INSEMINATION CERTIFICATE within
72 hours of insemination, AND FORWARD THE COMPLETED WHITE COPY to
AQHA within 15 DAYS of INSEMINATION.
7. The mare owner
MUST ULTRASOUND the mare for pregnancy between 14 - 22 days following
insemination to ensure that the embryo is healthy, growing and not twinned.
Failure to comply with this pregnancy check may null and void the contract.
8. A breeder’s
certificate will be issued upon notification that the mare has produced
a live foal provided there are no outstanding accounts. Should
the mare fail to produce a live foal (one that is able to stand
and nurse) the mare owner shall be entitled to rebreed that same mare
the following breeding season only, providing JHF Stable is notified
in writing by a licensed veterinarian within 7 days after the death
of the foal. If the mare becomes unfit for breeding or dies, the mare
owner may breed another mare within one year under the terms of this
contract. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will the breeding fees be refunded.
If the stallion dies, or becomes unfit for service, the Breeder reserves
the right to substitute another stallion.
9. The mare owner
will be responsible for a $60.00 administrative paperwork processing
fee billed for each year the mare is bred and payable to JHF Stable
in addition to the Breeding Fee.
10. The mare owner will
solely be responsible for all registration fees and / or nomination
fees incurred on the foal produced as a result of this service.
11. This agreement represents
the entire agreement between the parties. No other agreements or promises,
verbal or implied are included unless specifically stated herein.
This agreement cannot be transferred without prior written consent of
the stallion owner.
